| DOG HIP
DYSPLASIA |
We
recommend hip X - ray for dogs at the age of 6 months. Early diagnosed
hip dysplasia can be very successfully treated with a surgical procedure
called triple pelvic osteothomy. The procedure: First we cut the
pelvic bone on three different sites. Then we rotate the acetabulum
and by
doing that we stabilise head of femur in its physiological position.
The
best time to perform this procedure is in the growth period of
a dog. It is also possible to perform the procedure if the femur
isnt
dislocated, if head of femur is still intact or if acetabulum is
still
intact. Procedure is highly reliable with dog up to nine months
of age, with small pathologic changes and when there isnt any deformities
jet.
If hip dysplasia is diagnosed after growth period we can replace
the deformed hip with total hip endoprothesis.
